Meet Ian (He/Him)

Since 2004, Ian has worked as an investment advisor and financial planner specializing in socially responsible and impact investing. He began his career as the office and tech guy 2002 at a small Berkeley, CA-based Registered Investment Advisor firm that managed socially responsible portfolios. He soon dived into training as an advisor to work with clients directly to help align their money and values.

In 2012, Ian co-founded a San Francisco-based, fee-only SRI planning firm, aimed at supporting working and middle-class people. And he developed a specialty in working with progressive nonprofits and companies to incorporate their values into their retirement plans.

Ian’s approach is to meet people where they are at. He offers supportive, candid, non-judgmental advice, and helps shine light on what is often an overly opaque world of finance and investments. 

Outside of work, Ian has previously served on the board of the Mission Asset Fund and the Agape Foundation. He enjoys helping family, friends, and clients optimize their phone and computing experience with security- and privacy-improving techniques.

Originally from Connecticut, Ian has lived in the Bay Area since the late 90s and enjoys hiking, biking, music, computers, and hanging out with his wife and son.
