Meet Pamela

Pamela Stamper-Brandt is a 35+ year veteran in the financial and investment planning industry. Her goal as a Founding Member of Sustainable Advisors Alliance, LLC is to make her clients feel secure in their future while making a difference in the future of the world.

Pamela didn’t realize it at the time, but several experiences throughout her life were preparing her for a career as a Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) Advisor. She had humble beginnings, learning to be frugal and unwasteful from her mom. After meeting her Swedish partner, they visited Sweden annually where she learned about recycling and saving the environment. Pamela started practicing all she had learned from her mom and her visits to Sweden – she recycled, composted, and grew organic vegetables. Caring for the earth became a lifestyle for her.

After teaching high school math for 3 years and working as a civil engineer, Pamela joined a financial planning firm in 1981 and her journey towards SRI began. In 1996 she left the financial planning firm and became a Registered Investment Advisor, helping clients and friends with their financial planning needs. But in 1998 Pamela attended the first annual North Carolina Investment Advisors Conference and her lifestyle and career path collided in the best way possible!

There she met her mentor Charlotte Kania who taught her about SRI. At this point, she had been in the business for 17 years and had never heard of it. Charlotte helped her sign up with First Affirmative Financial Network, known for its SRI and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) platform, and she had the opportunity to attend her first SRI/ESG conference. Pamela knew then that she had found her calling.

Now, as a Founding Member of Sustainable Advisors Alliance, Pamela is embracing the opportunity to join forces with other like-minded impact investing Advisors and build a premier sustainable investment advisory firm from the ground up.

Pamela lives in Fancy Gap, VA in a solar-powered home on top of a mountain at 3,000 feet elevation – she can see for 50 miles on clear days! She is close with sons Cory, organic farmer, and Erik, sustainable arborist, as well as her 88-year-old mother and loves spending time with her three grandchildren. Pamela practices organic gardening and sustainable living, incorporating social responsibility into all that she does.
